Impact area is the ground under and around equipment requiring impact attenuation such as timber, grass, sand, gravel or rubber granulate.

When an impact area is for equipment, or a part of equipment, has a lower falling height than 60 cm and without forced movement, impact attenuation is not needed. In such a case, as long as the safety isn’t compromised, objects – such as fence or light pole – are permitted to be installed in this area.
